Our Story
DeepForm ® sheet forming technology was developed at the University of Cambridge Department of Engineering under the UK FIRES project, motivated by reducing the large volumes of sheet metal scrap from the automotive industry.
After four years of tweaking, two patent applications, held by Cambridge Enterprise, and two key papers, Chris Cleaver and Julian Allwood established DeepForm Limited as a company in March 2022.

Chris is a RAEng Enterprise Fellow, and Chief Exec of DeepForm Limited. He was previously a senior researcher at University of Cambridge working on novel manufacturing process for improved resource efficiency and productivity. Before this he worked for four years in East Africa, setting up and running a novel production business.

Gordon is a Deloitte qualified chartered accountant with >25 years experience across 4 Cambridge based early stage / high growth tech start ups, 2 as CFO. Milestones include NASDAQ (Smallworld) and AIM (Ubisense) listings, along with c. £500m of fund raising through multiple funding events.
